Problem
Indoor environments such as university buildings, hospitals, and large facilities often lack intuitive navigation systems. Traditional maps and signage require constant user attention, making it difficult for visitors to navigate unfamiliar spaces efficiently.
Solution
Developed Guide-AR, a mixed-reality navigation application that overlays contextual navigation cues directly into the user's environment. The system combines spatial anchors, SLAM-based localization, and real-time pathfinding to deliver hands-free indoor navigation through AR.
Architecture
Built with Unity using a MVC architecture, Meta XR SDK, and spatial anchor persistence. The navigation pipeline combines environment mapping, NavMesh-based A* pathfinding, and Meta Quest Depth API integration for dynamic occlusion, enabling virtual guidance elements to interact naturally with physical surroundings.
